This hand carved Eskimo Inuit soap stone seal was collected from the Hudson Bay area by my parents in 1961. This is an early carving, likely when soap stone carvings became available in the tourist market circa 1930's or 1940's. Carvings at that time were very simply rendered and rarely signed. Dimensions: 2 1/2"H x 5"L x 2"W at the shoulders.
