New build from the frame up as this was the stock ball-burnished aluminum but the og decals were gone and the clearcoat was coooked so it has a fresh new powdercoat. I did some prep-work before having it media-blasted so there are no issues to mention at all. The frame dropouts are extremely clean as this A1 has the stainless-steel dropout-saver inserts on the inner surface of the dropouts. The original chrome on the forks is very nice but the og chrome on the Specialized-stamped 4-pc bars isn't as nice. I'd call the chrome on the bars a 5/10 and the forks a 7.5/10. These forks have the shark-fin dropouts with "S" stamps inside and out that are in excellent shape also. The wheelset was just built by me with stainless spokes prepped with linseed oil, new red alloy nipples and very clean used ALEX singlewall alloy hoops. The anodized red Specialized hubs are in excellent condition and the show awesome and the wheels are true laterally and radially to within +/- 1mm. I polished the original stem and seat post clamp and the look beautiful. The headset compression-cap is BOMBshell and I polished that also. A Specialized Henge saddle sits on a new anodized red alloy post and the Wellgo ano-red square cages are new also. The 36t anodized red sprocket is new and the 22mm tubular 4130 chrome crankset is like-new and looks dope. The chain is a new Odyssey Bluebird and the freewheel is a mid-school ACS Claws. Shimano Deore XTR (M951) V-brakes are in excellent condition with new Odyssey clear pads and a SRAM composite lever controls them. The bike is finished off with new ODI Longneck ST grips w/plugs and a new staggered set of KENDA Comp 3 tires. Check pictures 📸 and message me any questions ✌️
