What they do
Prevent lippage (one tile edge higher than another)

How they work
Cip goes under the tile edge (embedded in thinset)
Wedge or cap is inserted/tightened to pull tiles level with each other
After curing, the clip snaps off at the base, leaving the joint clear for grout
