UPDATE TUESDAY 4/21:
I am currently meeting with a few good candidates. At this point, you should NOT reply to my ad unless (A.) you are located very very close to Ellington, and (B.) you have part-time availability during M-F mornings or afternoons (business hours) at least some day(s) during the week. I'm saying this to save us both the trouble! I already have qualified candidates except if you fit these narrow criteria. Thanks!
My original ad follows....
---
I have several large properties needing basic yardcare and supervision. Ongoing work available until winter (at least). Negotiable from 5 to 20 hours/week depending on your availability and abilities. I can definitely use 20 hours on weeks when the weather is pleasant. You can pretty much set your desired schedule. Potential opportunity for students, stay-at-home parents, or anybody without a full-time job. Cash paid daily or weekly.
Typical skill level is operating a lawnmower or weed whacker (however you won't actually mow grass very often). Example tasks include basic cleanup, moving around furniture & boxes (medium), trimming bushes, shoring-up fences, and running to hardware store for supplies. A wide assortment. Not gonna lie, the work is non-glamorous and gets old pretty quick, but the job also has several perks besides money. Option to earn up to $50/hour if you can tackle specialized tasks which are beyond my personal ability, ranging from small-engine repair to locksmithing to chainsawing large trees (not required tho). Plan to grow into the full scope of the gig over a period of weeks as you become familiar with the properties.
This is very flexible work, so if you need to dash off because your child missed the school bus, that's perfectly okay! But you must pick up where you left off the next day/week/whenever, so details don't slip thru the cracks. That's the single biggest criteria which makes the job worth $30/hour to me....it's a very chill gig if you're attentive to buttoning-up the details.
Location is in Ellington and adjacent towns Stafford & Tolland. Expect to drive between nearby properties & hardware stores in a 6-mile radius. Please send an email with your basic details, your typical availability, and why you think you might be a good fit. Thanks!
Update: I'm talking to candidates in the order I think might be best fit. For respondents who are overqualified, I'm going to circle back with you about future needs for plumbing, electrical, roofing, etc.
