The picture of the Frets is a fender Stratocaster I bought that had rusted frets as it was never played left in the case.
It took two applications to get these frets like that which took time and you have to tape off frets on rosewood, so it’s not a simple task.
However, if your frets are grimy and rusting, when you put new strings on it, they will start deteriorating within a week and once strings have started to deteriorate it severely affects the tone of the instrument , and it causes the frets to wear out.
