This is an all solid mahogany Martin 0-17 dating between 1939-1940. The beauty of this particular guitar, both aesthetically and sonically is beyond words! This very uncommon and UNDERRATED body size/shape is built light as a feather, easy to reach everything, and records so well it's hard to explain- I encourage you to look up some demos. It has been played in, and been around the block in every way you want, but still perfectly functional with unmatched sustain/resonance, tone, aged wood, and sparkle.
I took very close and detailed pictures of this one to show the condition accurately. There are dings and scratches, professionally repaired cracks, and the typical evidence of loving play wear. The repairs were done by a licensed repairperson and don’t affect sound or playability. It has also recently been setup and looked over by another reputable repairperson who confirmed that everything is solid on the guitar. The neck joint, neck, body, nut, saddle, and hardware are in outstanding working condition. Kept in smoke-free home at proper humidity, and tension off when not in use for long periods. There is no “bellying” of the top which is common among guitars this old.
The guitar has recently been setup with 12s and plays like an absolute dream. The neck angle is perfect, neck has proper relief, and the intonation is great- it plays properly in tune up and down the neck. The action is around 2.6mm bass side, where I personally like it. These guitars are notoriously easy to play- it takes almost no effort the glide up and down the neck. The guitar comes with a properly fitted hardshell case, which is in like-new condition. These will only continue to rise and rise in value as they are so limited and there are only a finite number of them.

The guitar really is a keeper. I’m selling because of unexpected life expenses - I need to liquidate some of my collection, otherwise I would keep it. Feel free to ask any questions about the condition. In-person cash exchanges only. Local Bristol CT meets only- preferably at the police or fire station due to the value of the item.
