The beauty of this guitar, both aesthetically and sonically is beyond words. The pictures speak for themselves: The solid spruce top, solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, and solid mahogany neck are flawless, and simply glow with character. I took very close and detailed pictures of this one (and ALOT of them) to show clearly that there isn’t a single mark or blemish on this guitar. Every inch of finish is glossy and like new, every joint is clean and tight, every piece of hardware is shiny and polished, and the fretboard and frets are in outstanding condition. Has been kept at 50% humidity in a smoke-free home for the entirety of its life.
It has recently been setup by Barry Lippman at the Martin factory authorized “Connecticut Guitar and Strings” facility. The frets are precisely leveled out of the Martin factory, and the action has been brought down to the absolute ideal height without buzz. The neck has proper relief, it plays perfectly in tune up and down the neck, and it plays like a dream. The luthier also installed strap buttons, as the Martin OM-28 does not come with them out of the factory. Right now it has fresh nickel bronze size 11 strings on it.
The sound is what you would expect from a well built guitar with solid rosewood back and sides and solid spruce top- amazingly clear attack coupled with impressive sustain. It has all the depth and bottom end of the best quality dreadnaughts, and all the shimmer and chime that smaller-bodied Martins are known for: it is impossible to make this guitar sound bad. I am selling because I am moving this year and I need to downsize my collection. Frankly, owning a $3000 guitar just makes me paranoid (afraid it will be damaged or stolen). I want the guitar to go to a good, safe home where it will be loved and appreciated.
This guitar comes with its original Martin hardshell case, which also happens to be in like-new condition. No marks, dents, rips, tears or anything of the sort. The plush interior is soft and vibrant, and its got a locking key tucked away in the pocket. I’m also including multiple two-way humidifiers that keep the case at 50% humidity regardless of the outside conditions (see pictures).

These are over $3000 new, and you’ll find sold listings of one’s in worse condition between 2,225 and 2,600. In this condition, $2,290 is an extremely good price at the low end of this guitars value range. I am not going to rush the sale, so I’m very firm on the price. Feel free to ask any questions about the condition, or to shoot me very reasonable offers! In-person cash exchanges only.
