Custom Made Precision Bass vintage 60's style All Parts, Mighty Mite, Fender Sonic Blue Rosewood Fretboard Vintage 60's style Nitro Lacquer !
**This is the description from the builder:
I'm a bass player and a Fender aficionado. Over a decade ago I built my first instrument. It turned into a hobby and I've built and finished many since then. This one was completed by me in 2015 and played mainly at home open mics local jams and as a reliable backup bass on the road. I built it from all new parts but ,there's some player wear as you can see in the photos . Lately I've been selling off my creations, mainly for these reasons: Having too many custom instruments isn't always a good thing, it's made me neglect my actual vintage Fenders. When I have so many, I don't bond with any one; I find that's not such a good thing as a player. This is a great bass but it's time to sell and let someone else play and enjoy it. Here's what it's made of, top to bottom. : Allparts P bass width neck, maple with rosewood fingerboard finished with clear satin nitrocellulose lacquer on the back and peghead, and wearing a 50s style repro Fender Precision Bass "spaghetti" waterslide decal. : Genuine Fender string tree and Vintage Style long stem, "elephant ear", reverse tuners (yes, genuine Fender, but I read somewhere they are actually made by Gotoh in Japan). The same tuners found on many of today's Fender Vintage model basses. : Just like on late 50s through 60s Fender basses, Fender Custom Shop decal on the back of headstock and Custom Shop neck plate : Mighty Mite Precision bass swamp ash body, finished in a Fender color, Sonic Blue, and clear-coated. Color and clear are both nitrocellulose lacquer, with sanding sealer and white primer underneath. I wanted the body to "breathe", so I made purposely made the finish as thin as possible. Also to keep it as thin as I could, I didn't use a grain filler, so you can see and feel the grain ( just a little bit on the front, a little more on the back). It's pretty, feels nice, and I'm not the only person who likes it like that. All finish products were bought from reranch.com. I've gotten good at finishing over ten years. I did a lot of fine wet sanding between coats and ended with a machine polisher, so this thing looks nice! :The pickup is a Fender 58 Precision Bass replacement for Fender Precision Bass". : Genuine Fender mint green pickguard and thumb rest /tug bar. :Genuine Fender volume knob , tone knob, and strap buttons. : 250 K pots (I don't remember the manufacturer of the pots) : Jensen foil-in oil capacitor. : Last but not least, the bridge is something you won't find anywhere else. It's a genuine Fender Vintage repro late 50s through 60s style. Ordinary enough at first, but it's converted to string-through with carefully drilled holes for the strings. The string- through ferrules on the back of the body are Genuine Fender repro Vintage; the big ones, just like on the early to mid 50s Fender P basses. That's about it. A high quality instrument made from high quality parts. Light weight and a joy to play. Because she's a "Frankenstein" (a very nice one though), she can be had for a fraction of the price of a similar custom shop instrument from the Fender factory or a vintage style P Bass from a known "boutique" builder. Bass Gig Bag included $1500
