Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engine Build Technician to join our growing technical team. This hands-on role is essential to the assembly, inspection, and maintenance of our cutting-edge rotary engines. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical background, a proactive mindset, and a high level of craftsmanship to support our engineering and R&D efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform precision assembly and disassembly of prototype and production rotary engines
Inspect and measure machined components using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
Identify and resolve mechanical issues during engine build processes
Maintain accurate inventory of tools, components, and consumables
Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop and lab areas
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and shop infrastructure
Collaborate closely with engineers and other technicians to support design iterations and testing
Document build procedures, discrepancies, and improvements for continuous process optimization
Qualifications:
Proven mechanical aptitude from automotive, aerospace, machining, or similar hands-on technical fields
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly documentation
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Strong attention to detail with a focus on high-quality workmanship
Familiarity with hand tools, torque wrenches, gauges, and shop equipment
Experience with rotary or internal combustion engines is a plus
Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in a workshop setting
